Superintendent

Eleazar Rodriguez, Jr., “aka JR”, was born in Youngstown, Ohio in 1962, where his parents pastored an Assemblies of God church. He strongly felt the calling of God early in his life. At the age of fifteen he went to Bible College in Mexico and graduated in 1979.

In 1980, he became a minister with the General Council of the Assemblies of God. He has served as an associate pastor and youth pastor. In 1988, he was elected to serve as the Youth Director for the Gulf Latin American District (GLAD) Council of the Assemblies of God, which covered four states: Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas.

In 1993, he resigned as Youth Director to become the pastor of Upper Room Assembly (Templo Aposento Alto) in Houston, Texas, where he is presently pastoring.

JR has served on staff of the Association of Evangelism of GLAD, as General Presbyter and as an Executive Presbyter. In 2010, he was elected Superintendent of the Texas Louisiana Hispanic District of the Assemblies of God, a newly formed district that is made up of over 200 pastors and ministers and 110 churches covering East Texas and the entire state of Louisiana.

JR wrote his first book entitled “Violent Generation” (Spanish/English), published by Creation House.

His ministry is greatly complemented by the love of his life and wife of 34 years, Patsy. JR and Patsy reside in Houston, Texas and have two sons and one terrific daughter-in-law: Eleazar III, who is married to Arianna, and Joseph Ryan.
